Amazon Secures $38B OpenAI Partnership as AI Giant Diversifies Beyond Microsoft

OpenAI has signed a $38 billion, seven-year cloud deal with Amazon — its first major move since gaining more autonomy. The partnership underscores the AI industry’s soaring demand for computing power as firms race toward human-level intelligence.
Details:
The deal gives OpenAI hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, including GB200 and GB300 chips. Capacity will come online by late 2026, with room to expand through 2027, backing Sam Altman’s $1.4 trillion plan to build 30 gigawatts of compute
The agreement is a major win for Amazon, easing worries it was lagging Microsoft and Google in AI. Amazon shares hit record highs, adding nearly $140 billion in market value, while Microsoft briefly dipped. AWS already hosts OpenAI models
It also signals OpenAI’s shift from Microsoft, its key partner since 2019. Last week’s restructuring ended Microsoft’s first right of refusal for compute services. OpenAI has added Google Cloud and reportedly a $300 billion Oracle deal, while eyeing an IPO that could value it at $1 trillion
The OpenAI–AWS partnership marks a pivotal era in AI infrastructure, where scale and diversification are key to building systems that could transform how we live and work.

Senator Blackburn Forces Google to Pull Gemma AI Over False Defamation Claims

Google has removed its Gemma AI model from AI Studio after Senator Marsha Blackburn accused it of generating completely fabricated sexual misconduct allegations against her.
Details:
When asked about Blackburn, Gemma falsely claimed she was accused of pressuring a state trooper for prescription drugs and non-consensual acts during a 1987 campaign—none of which is true, including the year (actually 1998). The supposed supporting links led to error pages and unrelated articles
This follows conservative activist Robby Starbuck's lawsuit claiming Google's AI models defamed him by generating false and highly inappropriate criminal accusations. During a Senate hearing, Google's VP characterized these as "hallucinations", but Blackburn argues they're defamation, not harmless errors
Blackburn's letter also points to a pattern of bias against conservatives in Google's AI systems, echoing complaints from Trump supporters about "AI censorship" and liberal bias—concerns that led to Trump's executive order banning "woke AI" earlier this year
Google responded that Gemma was never intended as a consumer tool for factual questions and is removing it from AI Studio while keeping it available via API for developers.

How to Automate Email Drafting with xAI’s Grok-4 and n8n

Tired of writing repetitive emails every day? In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to automate the process completely by building an AI agent that drafts emails using xAI’s Grok-4 inside n8n
Create Workflow in n8n
Start by opening your n8n dashboard and creating a workflow.
This will serve as the base where the nodes—trigger, AI model, and integrations—will connect and interact.
Add Chat Message Trigger
Add the Chat Message Trigger node as your workflow’s entry point.
Your workflow starts automatically whenever you send a fresh chat message to your AI agent.
Connect AI Agent Node
Next, add an AI Agent node and connect it to the Chat Message Trigger.
This will let your workflow process user prompts and generate intelligent responses through Grok-4.
Configure Grok-4 Model
In the AI Agent node:
Select the model: xAI Grok-4-0709
Enter your API credentials securely in the credentials section
Adjust settings like temperature and max tokens depending on how creative or concise you want your drafts to be
Add Simple Memory Node
Attach a Simple Memory node to your workflow.
Your AI agent can remember short-term context—useful for when multiple related messages are exchanged (e.g., "Add a closing line to the previous draft").
Integrate Gmail to Create Drafts
Add a Gmail node and set its operation to “Create Draft.”
Connect it after the Simple Memory node so the generated email text automatically becomes a draft in your Gmail account.
Make sure to authenticate your Gmail integration via OAuth.
Define System and User Prompts
Set up system and user instructions to guide the AI’s tone and structure. For example:
System message: “You are an assistant that writes concise, polite business emails.”User prompt example: “Write an email to emma @ startuphub(.)io to request a demo schedule next week.”You can customize these based on your use case—customer support, outreach, or internal communication.
Test and Refine Workflow
Run a quick test to ensure everything works smoothly. Try prompts such as:
“Draft a thank-you email to alex @ company(.)com for attending our product webinar.”“Write a follow-up email asking if they had time to review our proposal.”Review the generated drafts in Gmail, tweak system instructions if needed, and save your workflow for future automation.
Note: If the workflow triggers too often, add filters or conditions so it runs when messages contain “draft” or come from specific users.
