Anthropic Launches Claude Fable 5.1 With Lower Costs and Less Friction

Anthropic launched Claude Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1, two versions of the same frontier model with different safeguards. Fable is broadly available; Mythos stays restricted to vetted cyber and life-science partners.
Details:
Cache reads are 75% cheaper, falling from $1 to $0.25 per million tokens, while base input/output stay $10/$50. Anthropic estimates ~25% typical savings and 45% for agentic work
Fable 5.1 improves coding, research and knowledge work, scoring 52.6% on Terminal-Bench-Science and 55.8% on Terminal-Bench 4.0. Anthropic also showed GPU optimization and Venus mapping results
Safeguards intervene less: ~60% fewer cyber false positives and 85% fewer biology interventions. Fable can find software flaws, while EFS keeps enterprise data in customer cloud
More than a benchmark jump, this release combines stronger models with lower agent costs, fewer unnecessary refusals, tighter privacy, and broader practical use.

OpenAI Astra Hits Critical Cybersecurity Level Ahead of Public Release

OpenAI says its upcoming Astra model is its first to reach a “Critical” cybersecurity threshold. It can autonomously find unknown flaws and build exploits, forcing OpenAI to restrict its strongest cyber abilities.
Details:
Astra scored 100% on ExploitBench and, in OpenAI’s newer internal test, found and used two zero-days. It also built browser escape and operating-system privilege-escalation exploit chains
OpenAI delayed Astra after the Hugging Face incident, though Astra was not involved. Safeguards include stronger refusals, sandboxing, abuse detection and chain-of-thought monitoring
Astra is coming, but its strongest cyber capabilities start with selected testers before Daybreak Blue. Fortune says early users include U.S. government and critical-infrastructure groups
OpenAI calls Astra its most aligned model yet, but outside validation is limited. Its launch will test whether those safeguards hold up in practice.

How to Transcribe Meetings With the Latest Gemini 3.5 Transcribe

You can turn meeting recordings into useful notes without paying for a transcription tool. Gemini 3.5 Transcribe converts audio into accurate text, ready for summaries, decisions, and next steps.
Open Gemini 3.5 Transcribe
Open Google AI Studio and use gemini-3.5-transcribe for recorded meetings. For real-time transcription, Google also offers gemini-3.5-transcribe-live.
Upload Meeting
Upload your meeting audio. Gemini automatically detects 85+ languages and can handle conversations that switch between languages.
Choose Transcription Mode
Pick the mode based on what you need:
Smart: Cleans filler words, false starts, punctuation, and formatting.
Verbatim: Keeps the exact speech and supports speaker labels and word-level timestamps.
For normal meeting notes, Smart is usually enough.
Add Important Vocabulary
If needed, add product names, acronyms, technical terms, or people's names as custom vocabulary to improve recognition.
Note: custom vocabulary can't be used with speaker diarization or word-level timestamps.
Generate and Check Transcript
Run the transcription and quickly check:
Names and technical terms
Dates, numbers, and commitments
Speaker labels if using Verbatim mode
Gemini can distinguish up to eight speakers in recorded audio.
Turn It Into Notes
Give the transcript to Gemini and use:
Turn this transcript into clear meeting notes. Include a short summary, key points, decisions, unresolved questions, and follow-ups. Use information stated in the transcript.Extract Action Items
Ask Gemini to turn the meeting into a clear task list:
Task
Owner
Deadline
Prompt:
Extract every decision and action item from this meeting. For each task, include the owner and deadline. If either wasn't mentioned, write "Not assigned" instead of guessing.
Note: Don’t turn on word-level timestamps unless you actually need them. Google notes that timestamps can slightly reduce overall transcription accuracy.
