Anthropic Unveils Mythos for Major Cybersecurity Threats

Anthropic unveiled Project Glasswing, a cybersecurity program built around Claude Mythos Preview, an unreleased AI model that reportedly found serious flaws across operating systems, browsers, and software used at scale.
Details:
Anthropic says Mythos found thousands of high severity vulnerabilities, including issues in every major operating system and browser, some missed for decades, and built related exploits autonomously
Because of the risk, Anthropic is not releasing Mythos publicly. Availability is limited to defensive security partners like AWS, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, Cisco, CrowdStrike, JPMorgan
Anthropic says Mythos beats Opus 4.6 and rival frontier models on benchmarks, was used internally, surfaced in reports, and even surprised Sam Bowman by emailing from a test system
Project Glasswing shows AI is moving beyond chat into real infrastructure defense, while raising a tougher question about how much power should stay private.

GLM-5.1 Puts Open-Source AI Closer To The Frontier Than Ever

Open source AI just hit a major moment. Z AI’s GLM-5.1 is entering frontier territory with top coding results, strong web design performance, and the ability to handle complex autonomous work for 8 hours straight.
Details:
GLM-5.1 scored 58.4 on SWE-Bench Pro, beating GPT-5.4 and Opus 4.6. That gave open source a rare No. 1 spot on a major coding benchmark and put Z AI in the global frontier conversation
Z AI says the model stays effective across long agentic tasks, sustaining work through hundreds of rounds and thousands of tool calls as it breaks problems down, runs experiments, and finds blockers
In testing, it built a working Linux desktop as a web app over 8 hours with a file browser, terminal, and games, while also ranking second in Arcada Labs’ Design Arena for creative web design
Chinese labs keep closing the gap, and GLM-5.1 suggests the next AI race is not just scale, but how long a model can keep solving.

How to Create a Custom AI Tool in Claude Using Artifacts

Claude Artifacts just launched API integration, letting you create custom AI tools directly inside Claude. This tutorial shows you how to build, test, and save your first artifact step by step.
Open Artifacts
On Claude’s left sidebar, select the “Artifacts” option to enter the workspace where your custom tools are stored.
Create Artifact
Press "New artifact" and then start from scratch to begin a fresh project. This gives you a blank workspace where you can describe the type of tool you’d like Claude to build.
Describe the Tool
In the prompt area, write out what you want. For example:
"Create a grammar AI checker with two text areas (Original vs Fixed text) and a 'Fix Grammar' button."Generate First Version
Submit the prompt and let Claude produce the first draft of your tool. A live preview appears in the artifacts window.
Add Enhancements
Improve the tool by requesting more features. For example:
"Add word count and change highlighting for differences between original and fixed text."Test with Example Text
Paste in a short paragraph containing grammar issues. Use the “Fix Grammar” button and review the corrected version in the second text area.
Refine and Personalize
If you want further adjustments—like tone analysis, readability checks, or visual changes—provide an updated prompt.
Save to Library
When you’re satisfied, store the tool in your artifacts library. Give it a meaningful name (e.g., “Grammar Fixer + Word Count”) along with a short description so you can easily find and reuse it later.
Tip: Every artifact you design here operates through Claude’s API in the background. You don’t have to set up hosting, manage API keys, or write backend code.
