First Look at Apple and Google AI Partnership Coming in February

Details:

• Apple plans to launch latest version of Siri in the second half of February that uses Google’s Gemini models to use personal data and on-screen content to complete tasks

• An even bigger upgrade is expected at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June, which will introduce a more conversational, ChatGPT-style assistant that could run directly on Google

• This pivot follows internal struggles to get back on track, evidenced by the recent departure of AI chief John Giannandrea and earlier defensive comments from Mike Rockwell

AI writing all your code sounds exaggerated—until the person saying it built the tool. Anthropic’s Claude Code creator Boris Cherny says AI wrote 100% of the code he shipped over the past two months, backed by public proof and interviews.

Details:

• Boris, a former Meta Principal Engineer, shipped 259 pull requests in 30 days using Claude Code. He focuses on planning, architecture, and reviews while running multiple Claude sessions in parallel and letting AI test and verify

• Claude Cowork, the GUI version for non-developers, was built in about ten days using Claude Code itself. It handles tasks like file organization, receipt extraction, and spreadsheet creation

• There are limits. High PR volume raises quality concerns, Boris is promoting his own tool, and trust in AI coding is slipping even as usage grows. Even he says humans still handle judgment and hard problems
