OpenAI's ChatGPT Pulse Generates Custom Morning Briefs

OpenAI is taking a major step toward making ChatGPT feel less like a chatbot and more like a personal assistant with the launch of ChatGPT Pulse. It generates personalized morning briefings while you sleep, aiming to become the first thing you check each day.

Details:

  • Pulse delivers 5-10 tailored morning reports, from updates roundups to personalized briefs. Demos showed Arsenal soccer updates and Sedona travel itineraries. Reports appear as AI-generated cards explorable through ChatGPT queries

  • The feature integrates via ChatGPT's Connectors, connecting to Gmail and Google Calendar to surface emails or create agendas. With memory enabled, Pulse suggests London running routes or pescatarian dining based on conversation context

  • Currently limited to ChatGPT Pro ($200/month), Pulse will expand to Plus users, then all users. Unlike social platforms, it limits engagement with "That's it for today" messages. OpenAI envisions future capabilities like booking reservations or drafting emails

This launch represents OpenAI's broader strategy shift toward proactive AI that works asynchronously rather than just responding to prompts.

Meta Doubles Down on AI Videos Nobody Wants

Meta just launched Vibes, an AI-only video feed that signals a very different playbook. While rivals clamp down on synthetic content and users dismiss “AI slop,” Meta is pushing a TikTok-style stream of artificial clips. The move says as much about Meta’s internal struggles as it does about their AI ambitions.

Details:

  • The reception was brutal from day one. Under Zuckerberg's launch post, top comments dismissed Vibes as unwanted "AI slop." It reflects growing fatigue with synthetic content in feeds. This wasn’t lukewarm—it was outright rejection of something Meta framed as creative empowerment

  • Meta’s message is contradictory. They promised to punish “unoriginal” posts while praising authenticity, yet Vibes amplifies synthetic clips and remixing. Creators feel whiplash as Meta pushes “real” content in one place and AI clips in another

  • The tech stack shows pressure. Vibes relies on partners like Midjourney and Black Forest Labs, not Meta’s own models. It speeds launch but exposes gaps, making the move look driven by urgency

Vibes shows Meta’s AI ambitions but also its product-market struggles. The rollout feels rushed and tone-deaf, and the real test is convincing users that synthetic content deserves a home when most already reject it.

How to Automate Outlook Email Management with GPT-5 Copilot

Managing emails can take hours every week. With Microsoft Copilot powered by GPT-5, you can summarize inboxes, analyze long threads, and draft replies that sound exactly like you — all in minutes. This tutorial shows you how.

  1. Sign in to Microsoft 365

Open Microsoft Edge and log in with your Microsoft account. Make sure your Microsoft 365 subscription is active and Outlook is connected.

  2. Open Copilot Ribbon

Locate the Copilot ribbon (top right corner) and tap to launch the GPT-5 assistant.

  3. Enable Smart Mode

Turn on "Smart" mode in Copilot to securely connect with your Outlook inbox and grant permission to view your past email history.

  4. Check Privacy Permissions

(Optional but recommended) Adjust permissions under Settings → Privacy to ensure GPT-5 can read but not forward or delete emails. This gives you full control.

  5. Prepare First Prompt

    • Example: “Summarize my most recent 10 emails with bullet points on what needs replies today, then draft responses in my usual tone.”

  6. Let GPT-5 Scan Inbox

GPT-5 will scan your inbox, reviewing subject lines, conversation threads, and key decisions. It will also analyze your historical replies to learn your typical phrasing and tone.

  7. Review Email Summaries

Copilot generates bullet-point summaries that highlight:

    • Which emails are informational only

    • Which need an urgent reply

    • Which require follow-up actions

  8. Check Drafted Responses

Review the AI-drafted replies, each one written in your natural style, with greetings and closings that mirror your past emails.

  9. Refine Replies with Prompts

    Fine-tune drafts instantly by prompting:

    • “Make this more formal”

    • “Add timeline details”

    • “Keep this reply under 4 sentences”

  10. Send or Save Responses

Send directly from Outlook or save as drafts for later manual edits.

  11. Automate Morning Summaries

Schedule Copilot to run a daily check by prompting:

    • Every weekday morning, summarize my last 24 hours of emails into 5 bullet points and suggest replies.”

Note: Add examples from your own past emails into the prompt. This gives GPT-5 more context about your style and helps it quickly learn the exact tone, phrasing, and level of detail you prefer.
