Gemini Adds Automatic Memory for Past Conversations

Google's Gemini AI is getting smarter and more personal. With a major update, it automatically remembers your past chats and preferences—no need to remind it. This builds on last year's manual memory feature and changes how the chatbot interacts with you.

Details:

  • Gemini will remember past conversations to tailor future replies. If you talked about a Japanese culture YouTube channel, it might suggest food video ideas later. This expands last year’s manual memory tool and is rolling out to Gemini 2.5 Pro users in select regions

  • Memory features raise privacy flags. A NYT report tied ChatGPT’s memory to strange responses, prompting safety upgrades. Google says it's working on stronger safeguards. Memory is enabled by default but can be turned off in Settings > Personal Context > "Your past chats with Gemini"

  • “Gemini Apps Activity” will be renamed “Keep Activity.” From September 2, Google may use samples of uploaded files and photos to improve services. Temporary chats are also launching—stored briefly, not personalized, and excluded from chat history

This update represents Google's push toward more intuitive AI assistance, but users should carefully review their privacy settings to ensure their comfort level with data retention and usage.

Big investors are buying this “unlisted” stock

When the founder who sold his last company to Zillow for $120M starts a new venture, people notice. That’s why the same VCs who backed Uber, Venmo, and eBay also invested in Pacaso.

Disrupting the real estate industry once again, Pacaso’s streamlined platform offers co-ownership of premier properties, revamping the $1.3T vacation home market.

And it works. By handing keys to 2,000+ happy homeowners, Pacaso has already made $110M+ in gross profits in their operating history.

Now, after 41% YoY gross profit growth last year alone, they recently reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

China Develops Pregnancy Robot With Artificial Womb

China is making headlines with the potential world's first "pregnancy robot" – a humanoid machine with an artificial womb that can carry fetuses to full term. The technology could offer hope for infertile couples while igniting debate over the future of human reproduction.

Details:

  • Dr. Zhang Qifeng from Nanyang Technological University is developing a humanoid robot with an artificial womb. It mimics pregnancy using artificial amniotic fluid and nutrient tubes. A prototype is expected within a year, costing around $14,000. The project builds on 2017 “biobag” trials

  • The news went viral on Chinese social media, trending on Weibo and getting nearly 4,000 comments on Douyin. While some raise ethical and technical concerns, most reactions are positive—especially from women and couples struggling with infertility

  • This innovation comes as China’s fertility crisis worsens, with infertility rising from 11.9% in 2007 to 18% by 2020. The robot may offer a solution as local governments expand fertility support and embrace reproductive tech

As China advances reproductive technology, a pregnancy robot could revolutionize infertility treatment or spark major ethical debates. The world will watch as the project moves from concept to reality.

How to Set Up Your Personal GPT-5 Assistant with Custom Personalities

The GPT-5 update comes with four personalities to choose from, allowing you to adjust the tone and style of its responses. It also includes several other settings to help you fine-tune how the AI interacts with you. Here’s the step-by-step process:

  1. Open the Customization Panel

Go to the ChatGPT website or mobile app. Select your name or profile picture, then choose “Customize ChatGPT.”

  2. Set “What should ChatGPT call you”

In the box labeled “What should ChatGPT call you”, type the name or nickname you want GPT-5 to use.

    • This might be your real name, a shortened version, or even a fun alias.

    • GPT-5 will use this name in its replies, making the conversation feel more personal and direct.

  3. Fill in “What do you do”

In the “What do you do” box, describe your role, profession, or main activities.

    • Be detailed and specific—include your field, focus area, and any unique aspects of your work or studies.

    • For example, instead of saying “I’m a designer,” you could write, “I’m a freelance UX designer specializing in mobile app interfaces and user research.”

    • The more detail you provide, the better GPT-5 can tailor its answers to fit your needs.

  4. Choose “What personality should ChatGPT have”

Select one of the four available personality types, each offering a different style of communication:

    • Cynic – Witty, sarcastic, and blunt; best for humor or no-nonsense advice.

    • Robot – Emotionless, precise, and efficient; ideal for technical or concise replies.

    • Listener – Warm, empathetic, and relaxed; suited for personal, supportive conversations.

    • Nerd – Curious, enthusiastic, and detailed; perfect for deep explanations or learning sessions.

  5. Define “What traits should ChatGPT have”

Enter traits such as Chatty, Witty, Encouraging, or any other qualities you want GPT-5 to reflect.

    • These traits add extra personality on top of the main style you selected.

    • For example, pairing “Nerd” with “Witty” creates a detailed yet entertaining interaction style.

  6. Review Settings

Go through each field—your name, what you do, personality type, and traits—to make sure they accurately match your preferences.

  7. Save and Apply

Once satisfied, save your settings. From now on, GPT-5 will consistently respond in a style and tone that matches the profile you’ve created.

Tip: If you’re not sure which personality to choose, try one for a day and switch it up later — GPT-5 will adapt.
