Google Signs Pentagon AI Deal As Employees Raise Concerns

Google has given the U.S. Department of Defense use of its AI for classified networks, allowing “any lawful government purpose.” The deal puts Gemini deeper into military AI work, despite employee backlash.
Details:
Google’s deal follows Anthropic’s refusal to give the Pentagon the same terms. Anthropic sought limits on domestic mass surveillance and autonomous weapons; DoD pushed for wider AI use
After Anthropic refused, DoD labeled it a “supply-chain risk,” a tag usually tied to foreign adversaries. Anthropic sued, and a judge gave it an injunction while the case continues
OpenAI, xAI, and Google have moved ahead with Pentagon deals. Google included wording against surveillance and autonomous weapons, but reports say it is unclear if those limits are enforceable
Over 600 Google employees urged Sundar Pichai to reject classified military AI work. This shows the AI race is about power, ethics, contracts, and who controls the use cases.
The AI Playbook for Video Teams That Can't Slow Down
Wistia's new AI Video Marketing Trends report shows how marketers are using AI to handle the unglamorous work, so creative energy stays where it matters.
Marketing leaders across industries are using AI to reach broader audiences, move faster, and extend the shelf life of every video they make. The report breaks down how AI is improving speed and output quality, helping teams keep up with demand and raise the bar while they're at it.
Because when every channel needs video, you need leverage, not another meeting that could've been an email. AI clears the runway so ideas actually take off.
See how top teams are using AI to iterate, refine, and ship while keeping a human grip on taste, voice, and strategy.

Elon Musk Says OpenAI Was His Idea Before Altman Took Control

OpenAI’s courtroom battle with Elon Musk has begun in Oakland. Musk says OpenAI abandoned its nonprofit mission and became profit driven, while OpenAI says Musk wanted power after failing to control it.
Details:
Musk is seeking $150B in damages for OpenAI’s charitable arm. He also wants OpenAI to return to nonprofit control and remove Sam Altman and Greg Brockman from leadership
OpenAI’s lawyers say Musk pushed for a for profit path himself, wanted to become CEO, then sued after he failed. They say the 2019 shift helped fund compute and talent
The judge warned Musk and Altman about using social media during the trial. Altman and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella may testify, and a verdict could arrive by mid May
This case could affect OpenAI’s IPO plans, public trust in AI, and who gets control as powerful AI systems become bigger businesses.

How to Produce a Commercial-Style Ad with AI

Most people make AI ads by guessing, and that usually leads to random results. This tutorial shows a simple way to plan scenes, generate the right frames, and turn them into a polished TV-style commercial.
Ask Gemini to plan scenes
Use Gemini to turn your commercial/video idea into two 5-second scenes.
Ask for:
what happens in scene 1
what happens in scene 2
the visual style and flow between both scenes
Example prompt:
“Create a 2-scene plan for a 20-second commercial for [product]. Each scene should be 5 seconds long and feel cinematic, polished, and premium.”Ask Gemini for frame prompts
Once the scene plan is ready, ask Gemini to write prompts for the key frames you need.
Get prompts for:
start and end frame of scene 1
start and end frame of scene 2
Example prompt:
“Based on these two scenes, write detailed image prompts for the start and end frames of each scene. Keep the style consistent and commercial quality high.”Set up Higgsfield image gen
Log in to Higgsfield, then go to Image > Create Image > Nano Banana 2. You will need a Basic or Pro plan.
Use:
4K quality
4 variations
21:9 ratio
Generate frames
Create the start and end frame for scene 1, then create the end frame for scene 2. Review the results and download the versions that feel visually consistent.
Turn frames into video
Go to Video > Kling 3.0 in Higgsfield. Upload the frames and add a short motion prompt for each scene.
Example prompt:
“Slow cinematic push-in, premium lighting, elegant product movement, realistic commercial style.”Stitch everything together
Download the generated clips and combine them in any video editor.
Note: If one frame looks great on its own but does not match the others, it is usually better to leave it out.

Behind his head sits a bold solid red circle like a halo/rising sun against a clean off-white textured background.
