Google's Gemini 4 Carbon Leads OpenAI and Anthropic on the AI Index v5

Google just unveiled Gemini 4 Carbon, and it's challenging OpenAI and Anthropic at the top of the AI race. The model takes the lead on a major intelligence ranking, with a sharp focus on coding and cybersecurity.
Details:
Gemini 4 Carbon scores 59 on Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index v5.0, ahead of Claude Opus 5.5 (58) and GPT-6 Astra (57). It wins key tests, but doesn't lead every individual benchmark
Built for long, autonomous tasks, it can tackle complex coding projects over days. Google reports improvements in software engineering, web development, and more reliable task execution
Its cybersecurity scores reach 88.2% for detecting vulnerabilities, 54.8% for testing exploits, and 71.0% for patching. Google also reports major improvements in generating secure code
It is limited to selected cybersecurity partners currently. Google plans a phased rollout through its Fairwind Program before wider public availability.

DeepSeek and Moonshot Used OpenAI Outputs in Model Training

DeepSeek and Moonshot AI trained their newest models using outputs from OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra. The Information says both Chinese AI companies relied heavily on Astra, reigniting debate over AI model copying.
Details:
Moonshot's Kimi K3.1 Pro and DeepSeek's V4.1-Flash 1017 benefited from Astra outputs. The Information cited people with direct knowledge of each model's development
The technique is called distillation. It uses responses from a powerful AI system to train another model, potentially replicating advanced capabilities faster and at a lower cost
OpenAI previously linked a July distillation campaign to people associated with Moonshot. OpenAI and Anthropic have criticized efforts to extract capabilities without permission
DeepSeek and Moonshot have not confirmed these claims. The report highlights growing tension over how rival AI companies develop powerful models.

How to Build an AI Agent That Monitors Your Competitors

Want to know what your competitors are doing without constantly checking their websites? Build an AI agent that monitors their updates, analyzes what changed, and sends you the key takeaways.
Add Competitors
Create a list of 3–5 competitors and add their:
Homepage
Pricing page
Product pages
Blog or RSS feed
Keep the URLs in Google Sheets or your n8n workflow.
Schedule Monitoring
Create an n8n workflow with a Schedule Trigger and run it daily.
Use a scraper or HTTP Request node to collect competitor pages, then add RSS or news sources for additional updates.
Detect Changes
Save the latest page snapshot and compare it with the previous one.
Track the:
Page content
Hash
Last checked time
Continue when a meaningful change is detected. This avoids sending unchanged pages to the AI.
Have AI Analyze It
Send the old and latest content to your AI model with:
Compare these competitor updates.Find meaningful changes to pricing, products, features, offers, positioning, launches, and partnerships. For each change, explain:1. What changed2. Why it matters3. Potential business impact4. Recommended actionIgnore cosmetic changes.Add News Monitoring
Track competitor names across Google News, RSS feeds, and relevant public discussions.
Combine those results with website changes before sending them to AI so the report has more context.
Generate Intelligence Brief
Ask AI to turn the findings into:
Competitor → Change → Why it matters → Recommended action
Add an urgency level such as Low, Medium, High, or Critical.
Send It Automatically
Send the final brief to Slack or email and save it to Google Sheets or Notion for historical tracking.
Note: Add competitor news and RSS feeds to catch launches, partnerships, funding, and major announcements.

A black and white portrait of a man using the uploaded image as the face of the man, wearing a vintage wool overcoat and dark tie, set against a background resembling a vintage newspaper page with Latin "motivational" text. At the top of the image, a large, bold white sans-serif headline reads "Embrace the Grind". Across the man's eyes is a graphic bar featuring the text "JUST DO IT" stacked vertically three times. The top and bottom instances of the text are white, while the middle one is black, enclosed within a bold red rectangular block. The overall style is a mixed-media collage or edgy motivational poster with a stark contrast between the monochrome photography and the vivid red and white typography.Model: ChatGPT Images 2.5 / Nano Banana 2.1
Prompt of the Day
