Google's Genie 3 World Model Could Be Key Step Toward AGI

Google DeepMind has unveiled Genie 3, calling it “the first real-time interactive general-purpose world model.” They see it as a key step toward artificial general intelligence, advancing how AI learns and interacts with simulated environments.

Details:

• Genie 3 creates minutes of interactive 3D environments at 720p and 24fps from simple text prompts — a leap from Genie 2’s 10–20 seconds. It supports “promptable world events,” builds realistic or imaginary worlds, and maintains physical consistency using memory from Genie 2 and Veo 3

• It learns physics by recalling past generations, like humans knowing a glass will fall. In DeepMind’s SIMA agent tests, it completed warehouse tasks such as “approach the bright green trash compactor” and “walk to the packed red forklift”

• Limits include short interaction times, weak multi-agent handling, and unrealistic physics like odd snow in skiing demos. Agent actions are limited, and promptable events aren’t always done by agents

The latest update to Dream Machine by Luma, known as Ray2, introduces a powerful feature: Camera Motion. This allows you to choreograph smooth, cinematic movements in your AI-generated videos—adding a professional, film-like quality with ease.

Follow these steps to bring your scenes to life:

1. Open Dream Machine and Sign In

   Head to Dream Machine and either create an account or log into your existing one to proceed.

2. Start a Fresh Board

   Once you’re in the dashboard, begin a fresh board where your video prompts and outputs will be stored. Locate the prompt field to enter your video idea.

3. Add a Concept Prompt

   Describe the scene you want to create—for example:

   “A lone traveler walks through a futuristic city at sunset.”

4. Enable Camera Motion

   Just beneath the prompt box, tap on the Camera option. You’ll see a variety of camera movement styles such as:

   • Zoom in / Zoom out

   • Pan left / right

   • Tilt up / down

   Choose the one that best suits your scene for fluid, cinematic motion.

5. Enhance Motion with Specific Verbs

   To fine-tune your video’s camera behavior, include motion-related keywords directly in your prompt—words like “Move,” “Push,” “Glide,” or “Orbit.”

   These will activate preset camera patterns and make your visuals feel more intentional and dynamic.

6. Produce the Video

   Press Enter to begin rendering. Depending on the complexity of your prompt and camera instructions, generation may take a short moment.

7. Review and Download

   Once complete, you’ll receive a video with smooth, professional-grade camera movements—resembling the kind of shots you'd find in high-end productions.

Tip: Pair camera movements with descriptive visual language. For example, “A push-in shot of a robot standing in the rain” yields better results than generic phrasing. Think like a director!
