Moonshot AI Launches Kimi K3 to Challenge Frontier Models

China’s Moonshot AI may have delivered 2026’s next DeepSeek moment. Kimi K3 is a 2.8T-parameter model with a 1M-token context window, setting records for Chinese and open-weight AI while nearing Fable 5 and Sol.

Details:

  • K3 beat Fable and Sol on selected web research, spreadsheet, frontend design and long-coding tests. Artificial Analysis scored it 57, behind Fable’s 60 and Sol’s 59, but 13 points above K2.6

  • In one 48-hour autonomous run, K3 designed, optimized and verified a tiny chip for a nano model based on its architecture, reaching over 8,700 tokens per second in simulation

  • K3 costs $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output—matching Claude Sonnet and below Fable and Sol. It is live; full model weights are due by July 27, 2026

K3 makes Dario Amodei’s “6–12 months behind” estimate look closer to one release cycle. China’s open-model race is reaching the frontier.

Google Delays Gemini 3.5 Pro After Missing Crucial Performance

Google’s Gemini 3.5 Pro has missed its promised June launch after falling short on coding. The delay leaves Google under mounting pressure as OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Meta, and Chinese labs move faster.

Details:

  • Google previewed 3.5 Pro at I/O in May and said it would arrive the next month. Bloomberg reports that a late-June training-data update failed to deliver the coding gains

  • Gemini 3.5 Flash shipped but Google’s newest Pro model remains February’s 3.1 Pro. DeepMind, Cloud, Android, and other teams build separate AI coding tools, adding internal friction

  • The pressure is growing as Noam Shazeer left for OpenAI, while John Jumper and other key researchers moved toward Anthropic. Models from Meta, xAI, and Chinese labs are raising pace

Holding back a weak model makes sense. But Google was recently part of AI’s leading trio, and every delay gives faster rivals more room to pull ahead.

How to Research Any Business Opportunity with Gemini Notebook

Most business ideas sound good at first. This tutorial shows you how to use NotebookLM to research any opportunity, compare real evidence, and build a source-backed brief before you commit time, money, or energy.

  1. Write decision memo

Ask ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to create a one-page memo.

    Include:

    • The opportunity

    • The options

    • The buyer and constraints

    • The key questions

    Prompt example:

“Write a one-page memo comparing three AI receptionist vendors. Cover cost, features, setup effort, proof, and risk. Do not make a final recommendation yet.”

  2. Upload it to NotebookLM

Add the memo as your first source. Then ask:

“Extract the decision, options, criteria, missing evidence, and source types needed.”

  3. Create research map

Ask NotebookLM what evidence is needed before making the decision.

For example: pricing, features, reviews, integrations, setup, support, and risks.

  4. Research each option

Use source discovery for each vendor.

    Example searches:

    • “Smith AI pricing, features, reviews”

    • “Goodcall AI receptionist pricing and limitations”

    • “Slang AI features, integrations, customer proof”

  5. Make one brief per option

Ask NotebookLM to summarize each option in the same format.

“Create a brief with best fit, proof, pricing, setup effort, risks, and what needs confirmation.”

  6. Compare options

Ask for a table comparing strengths, weaknesses, pricing confidence, setup difficulty, evidence quality, and risks.

  7. Get recommendation

Ask for the winner, runner-up, not-recommended option, fragile assumptions, sales-call questions, and a 30-day validation plan.

Note: Never make the final decision from research alone. Use the brief to guide sales calls, demos, trials, or small tests.

Create Your Own Photo Like This Using the Prompt Below:

Create a premium 4:5 **PRODUCT HAS GRAVITY advertising poster** for [PRODUCT/BRAND] on a clean editorial background. Place the authentic photorealistic product floating at the visual center as a powerful gravitational force, pulling product-relevant objects, particles, light, energy and typography into dramatic curved trajectories around it. Build a realistic spatial vortex with warped perspective, radial motion trails and bent environmental elements, while keeping the hero product perfectly sharp, undistorted and dominant. Create a **short, bold campaign headline specifically based on the product's main benefit, expressed through a gravity, orbit, pull, force, mass or attraction metaphor; never use a fixed generic gravity headline**. Surrounding objects must directly relate to the product's real use case and visually reinforce its benefit. Use controlled brand-color accents, cinematic commercial lighting, realistic physics, strong depth, generous negative space and premium global advertising art direction; surreal yet believable, sophisticated, minimal, high-impact, no irrelevant objects, no clutter.
