Meta Buys Robotics Startup To Push Its Humanoid AI Ambitions

Meta acquired Assured Robot Intelligence, a humanoid robotics startup, showing its AI ambitions are moving beyond chatbots and apps toward machines that can learn and adapt inside the physical world for an AGI race.
Details:
Meta acquired ARI for an undisclosed sum. The startup builds robotic intelligence so robots can understand, predict, and adapt to human behaviors in complex, changing environments
ARI's team including co-founders Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang, will join Meta's Superintelligence Labs, bringing expertise in robot control, self-learning, and whole-body humanoid control
Meta has explored humanoid robotics for years including possible consumer hardware. The belief is that AGI may need physical-world training, as forecasts range from $38B by 2035 to $5T by 2050
This is not just a robotics deal. It shows Meta believes the next AI race may be about models that can move through the world not just answer prompts.

Oscars Ban AI Actors And AI Written Scripts From Awards

Oscars are taking a firmer stand on AI in filmmaking. The Academy says AI actors and AI scripts cannot win acting or writing awards, while human creativity stays at the center of future nominations and rules.
Details:
This rule says acting nominations must be performed by humans with consent. Synthetic performers may appear in films, but they cannot compete for acting Oscars under Academy rules
Screenplays must also be human-authored to qualify. AI can still support production, but the Academy can ask for details to verify how much human authorship shaped the final work
This update comes as Hollywood debates performers like Tilly Norwood and digital recreations of actors. Other Oscar rule changes also expand international film eligibility and acting nominations
This is bigger than awards. Hollywood is saying AI may assist filmmaking, but the credit, consent, and creative ownership still belong to real humans.

How to Spot Scams in Seconds With Malwarebytes in ChatGPT

Scams are more advanced and harder to spot than ever. With Malwarebytes inside ChatGPT, you can quickly review links, emails, numbers, messages, and screenshots before you interact with them.
Turn on Malwarebytes
Launch ChatGPT and go to Settings → Apps. Search for Malwarebytes, then enable the integration. You need to do this once.
Start fresh chat
Enter a fresh chat so the request is clean and easy to follow.
Add items to verify
Paste or upload the suspicious content you want checked:
A link or domain
An email address, sender details, or the full email text
A message or SMS that includes an unknown number
Ask Malwarebytes to run check
Type a clear command that tells the tool what to do.
Example prompts:
“Malwarebytes, scan this link and tell me if it’s risky: [paste]”“Malwarebytes, verify this sender and message for scam signs: [paste]”Make sure app activates
You should see the integration activate in the prompt bar. If it doesn’t, press the + icon and select Malwarebytes from the drop-down menu.
Read results like checklist
Malwarebytes will scan the details and return info such as:
Who the sender appears to be
Threat intelligence signals tied to the content
It may also flag common scam tactics like urgency, fake links, impersonation, or credential harvesting.
Note: If a message asks for passwords, OTP codes, or payment info, assume it’s a scam and verify through an official channel.
