Meta

Meta Muse Image Sparks Privacy Concerns Over Public Photos

Meta just launched Muse Image, an AI image generator inside Meta AI, Instagram Stories, and WhatsApp. But the biggest reaction is not about cool edits. It is about privacy, consent, and public photos.

Details:

  • Muse can create images from prompts, presets, filters, edits, ads, QR codes, landmark mockups, background cleanup, and even Facebook Marketplace interior design previews

  • The controversy is that people can tag public Instagram users and generate AI images using their photos. Meta says users can turn it off, but they may not get notified

  • Meta is also building Muse Video, while users remember its past privacy issues, from Cambridge Analytica to facial recognition shutdowns and biometric data concerns

AI image tools are getting more powerful, but the real question is simple: should people’s public photos be usable by default without clear consent?

Leading AI expert shares one email per day on what’s new & what’s next

AI moves faster than any single newsletter can cover. To actually stay current you'd need to read every major AI newsletter, listen to the AI podcasts that move thinking, watch what every AI lab ships, and scan public-company earnings calls, investor letters, and GitHub. Almost no one has time for that.

MavSource fixes this in 5 minutes a day. We aggregate all of those sources, summarize what matters, analyze the trends shaping AI — across both public and private markets, apps and infrastructure — and send it as one daily email with founder commentary on what the day's signal actually means.

No checking dozens of sources. No hype. One brief, every morning. Built for the people who can't afford to fall behind. Free.

MiniMax

China MiniMax Is Building 2.7 Trillion Parameter Model For AI Agents

China’s open-weight AI race just got massive. Reuters says MiniMax is preparing a 2.7 trillion-parameter LLM, possibly the world’s largest open-weight model, built for reasoning and AI agents.

Details:

  • The model could arrive as early as Q3 2026. Open-weight means users can download, run, study, and customize it, unlike closed systems from many proprietary AI labs

  • MiniMax is using Mixture-of-Experts design, where a small part of the giant model activates per query. That helps balance huge knowledge, speed, and lower running costs

  • The company is also pushing video, audio, music, coding, agents, and enterprise tools. It plans H3 video this month, raised about $614M in Hong Kong, and may list in Shanghai

This is not just a bigger model story. It shows China’s AI firms are racing to make powerful open systems cheaper, customizable, and global.

How to Create TikTok-Style Videos with NotebookLM

Creating short educational videos from research no longer has to start with a blank script. NotebookLM can read your uploaded sources, understand the main ideas, and help you generate a short visual overview from them.

  1. Sign in to NotebookLM

Go to NotebookLM and sign in with your Google account.

  2. Create Notebook

Choose the notebook that already has your research, or create a fresh notebook for this topic.

  3. Upload Sources

Add the materials you want NotebookLM to use. You can upload things like:

    • PDFs

    • Google Docs

    • Website links

    • Notes or pasted text

  4. Go to Studio

Head to the Studio panel on the right side of NotebookLM, choose Video Overview, then select the Short format to turn your research into a quick, TikTok-style video.

  5. Pick Focus Topic

Choose one of NotebookLM’s suggested topics, or type your own custom focus. For example:

    • “Explain the main idea for beginners”

    • “Turn this research into a short social media explainer”

    • “Focus on the most surprising findings”

  6. Generate Clip

Tap Generate and let NotebookLM create the video. Once it is ready, review the clip and make sure the main points match your research.

Note: Use it for repurposing, not replacing. Your own hook, caption, and final editing can still make the clip much stronger.
