Nvidia may be preparing one of the biggest financial commitments in AI history. It is in talks to guarantee about $250B for OpenAI to lease a 10-gigawatt Ohio data center that could ultimately cost more than $500B overall.

SoftBank’s SB Energy would build it on federal land using U.S. power backed by $33B from Japan. The first 800MW phase is due in 2028; the full 10GW campus would take years
The guarantee could lower borrowing costs as OpenAI lacks an investment-grade rating. Nvidia, already a $30B investor, may separately finance up to $350B in chips for the site
OpenAI leads tenant talks; Anthropic, Microsoft and Google also showed interest. The unfinished “credit wrapper” deal adds risk and would give OpenAI more direct control of its infrastructure

Moonshot AI has released Kimi K3’s open weights, turning its flagship into a downloadable model developers can deploy, adapt and self-host. The 2.8-trillion-parameter system is its biggest open AI release yet.
Details:
K3 is a native multimodal Mixture-of-Experts model with a 1M-token context window. It activates 16 of 896 experts per token and uses KDA plus Attention Residuals for 2.5× better scaling
Moonshot also released K3’s technical report plus MoonEP, FlashKDA and AgentEnv, opening key training infrastructure. The model targets long-horizon coding, reasoning, agents and knowledge work
K3 has helped Moonshot’s daily revenue rise at least 6×, while ARR hit $300M in June. The company is seeking funding at a $50B valuation as U.S. scrutiny around the model grows

Launch Perplexity
Go to Perplexity’s website or app and make sure you are using the latest version.
Turn on Computer mode
Look for the Perplexity Computer toggle and enable it before starting your search.
Begin with specific item
Tell Perplexity exactly what you want it to look for. You can include:
