OpenAI Lockdown Mode Shows Prompt Injection Is Still A Serious AI Risk
OpenAI just introduced Lockdown Mode, a security setting for people handling sensitive data. It limits web-connected features to reduce the chance of prompt injection attacks leaking private information.
Details:
Lockdown Mode cuts off risky outbound connections. Live browsing, Deep Research, Agent Mode, web image retrieval, Canvas networking, and file downloads for data analysis are disabled or limited
It does not stop every prompt injection. Hidden instructions can still appear in cached web pages or uploaded files, and they may still affect the answer or accuracy
The mode is rolling out to eligible personal users and self-serve ChatGPT Business accounts. It does not change memory, file uploads, data controls, sharing, or Codex network rules
This is OpenAI admitting the future of AI security is not just smarter models. It is also stricter controls around what AI can reach, use, and send out.

Siri is useful, but you can also set up a private AI assistant on your iPhone. This tutorial shows how to install Locally AI, download an open-source model, and connect it to your Action Button for quick voice use.
Download Locally AI
Install Locally AI from the App Store.
Choose model
Launch the app and pick a model. You can start with Google’s open-source Gemma model, which usually works well.
Download model
Download the AI model inside Locally AI. Keep the app running until the download is complete.
Go to Action Button settings
Go to your iPhone settings.
Enter Settings
Search Action Button
Swipe to Shortcut
Choose Voice Mode
Search for Locally AI inside the Shortcut option. Then select Voice Mode.
Download speech-to-text
Press the Action Button and wait for the chime. The app will ask you to download a speech-to-text model the first time. Download it.
