OpenAI Secures $8.3 Billion as Valuation Hits $300 Billion

OpenAI has secured a massive 8.3 billion funding round at a 300 billion valuation, significantly ahead of schedule as investors scramble to get a piece of the AI giant. The oversubscribed round demonstrates unprecedented investor appetite for AI companies amid ChatGPT's explosive growth.

Details:

  • OpenAI raised funding earlier than planned as part of its $40B goal for 2025. It originally aimed for $7.5B by year-end after a $2.5B round in March, but moved quicker due to strong investor interest and rapid growth

  • Revenue has jumped to $13B annualized, with projections reaching $20B by year-end. ChatGPT has over 700M weekly users. Momentum also comes from the U.S. AI Action Plan and Microsoft talks on OpenAI's shift to a for-profit model

  • Dragoneer led with $2.8B. Other investors include Blackstone, TPG, T. Rowe Price, Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, and Tiger Global. Some early backers got smaller shares to bring in more strategic partners

This funding round solidifies OpenAI's position as the most valuable AI company globally and provides the capital needed to compete in the increasingly expensive race to develop advanced AI systems.

Google Unveils Gemini Deep Think AI for Advanced Reasoning

Google DeepMind has unveiled Gemini 2.5 Deep Think, marking a significant leap in AI reasoning capabilities. This multi-agent system represents the company's most advanced reasoning model to date, designed to tackle complex problems by exploring multiple solution paths simultaneously.

Details:

  • This model runs AI agents in parallel, using more compute for stronger results. It scored 34.8% on Humanity’s Last Exam, ahead of xAI’s 25.4% and OpenAI’s 20.3%, and hit 87.6% on LiveCodeBench6. A variant also won gold at the Math Olympiad.

  • It works with tools like code execution and Google Search, generating longer, more detailed outputs. Google says it excels in creative tasks and web development. Reinforcement learning boosts reasoning over the I/O 2025 version

  • Gemini 2.5 Deep Think launches Friday via Google’s $250 Ultra plan. A math-focused version is going to researchers and takes hours to solve problems. Gemini API testing starts soon, joining the shift to multi-agent systems

This launch marks a shift in AI from single models to collaborative multi-agent reasoning, aiming to speed up breakthroughs in research and complex problem-solving.

How to Bring AI Automation to Your Browser

Want to automate your browser with AI? Nanobrowser is a powerful Chrome extension that connects with Google’s Gemini models to handle tasks like research, social media, and data tracking. This guide walks you through setup and shows how to start building smart, time-saving workflows.

  1. Install Nanobrowser

Open Google Chrome and go to Nanobrowser Chrome extension. Select “Add to Chrome” and complete the installation.

  2. Obtain Gemini API Key

Navigate to Google AI Studio and sign in with your Google account. From the top of dashboard, generate your Gemini API key. Copy it — you’ll need this to connect Nanobrowser with your Gemini models.

  3. Configure Nanobrowser

Once the extension is installed, locate the Nanobrowser icon in your browser toolbar. Open the interface and paste your Gemini API key into the settings to enable the integration.

  4. Assign AI Models

Within Nanobrowser’s settings, designate different Gemini models for optimal performance:

    • Use Gemini 2.5 Pro as your planner and validator

    • Use Gemini Flash as your navigator for high-speed task execution

  5. Start with Simple Task

Try a foundational prompt to ensure everything is working:

Search for top productivity apps launched this year and summarize their main features and user ratings.”

The AI will browse relevant sites, extract useful data, and deliver a clean summary.

  6. More Complex Use Cases

After confirming the basics, you can scale to more advanced automations, such as:

    • Social media workflows (posting, replying, scheduling)

    • Competitor monitoring (product updates, pricing shifts, strategic changes)

    • Automated data sourcing (pulling insights from forums, news sites, or marketplaces)

Tip: Nanobrowser works inside your browser session, so it can interact with any site you're logged into. This is helpful for managing social accounts, doing research, or using sites that require login.
