OpenAI Automates Research While Its Chief Scientist Warns of the Risks

OpenAI just revealed two sides of the same AI story: its agents are already doing research-intern-level work at massive scale, while its chief scientist warns humanity may not be ready for what comes next.
Details:
OpenAI says it hit its September “automated research intern” goal. Agents log 3.1 workdays per human day; median researchers use $600+ daily, while the 90th percentile tops $7,000
Researcher token output is up 124x since December, about 80% use 4+ agents at once, and experiments hit a record high. Agents take on longer, harder tasks, though humans steer
Jakub Pachocki warns rapid gains could become recursive self-improvement, with growing cyber and control risks. He wants stronger alignment, monitoring, shared safety bars and slowdowns
OpenAI’s next goal is a fully automated AI researcher by March 2028, using AI to advance research and safety while keeping humans inside the loop.

Victim Loses £250,000 After Scammers Use AI Celebrity Investment Video

A victim in Northern Ireland lost £250,000 after scammers used an AI-generated video of a well-known financial personality to sell a fake investment, showing how convincing AI-powered fraud has become.
Details:
The victim started with a small investment, then was contacted on WhatsApp and pushed to send more. The scammers slowly built trust and persuaded them to create several accounts
They gained remote control of the victim’s computer by claiming to help with the investment, then urged the victim to borrow money and transferred it to accounts they controlled
Police warn AI can fake videos, voices, ads, websites and celebrity endorsements. Verify financial firms independently and check FCA authorization
Police say stop and check before sending money, never be rushed, avoid remote control, and talk to family members if an investment seems suspicious.

AI made PMs faster. Multiplayer mode is still broken.

A PM can summarize research, draft a PRD, and mock up a prototype before lunch. The hard part starts when the team has to decide what actually gets built.
Jira Product Discovery gives product teams one place to capture insights, prioritize ideas with consistent frameworks, and build living roadmaps stakeholders can rally around.
And because it’s connected to Jira, the context behind every decision stays with the work—so developers and their agents know not just what to build, but why.
AI helps PMs move faster. Jira Product Discovery helps the whole team build with confidence.

How to Turn Any Document Into Branded Visuals Using Claude and Canva

If you’ve ever wished your documents could turn into visuals automatically, Claude and Canva just made that real. This combo helps you transform any text into beautiful, branded designs.
Go to Claude
Open your browser and visit Claude. Sign in with your existing Anthropic account, or create another one.
Navigate “Search and Tools” Section
On the left panel, tap on “Search and Tools”. This area allows you to integrate external apps and plugins that expand Claude’s abilities beyond text.
Enable Canva Plugin
In the plugin list, enable Canva, connect your account if prompted, and grant permission. You’ll then see Canva under “Active Tools.”
Prepare Source Material
Gather any file or content you want to visualize, such as:
Blog posts or newsletters
Product guides or sales decks
Meeting notes, reports, or summaries
Claude supports multiple file types (PDF, DOCX, TXT, etc.), so you can upload almost any written content.
Upload Document
Use the upload button next to the chat bar. Drag and drop your document or select it from your device. Claude will scan the content.
Ask Claude to Design
Type a clear, direct prompt explaining what you want. For example:
“Create a branded LinkedIn carousel from this file using Canva.”“Design a clean infographic highlighting the top 5 takeaways.”“Convert this meeting summary into a visual presentation with icons and charts.”
The clearer your style and purpose, the better the visual result.
Review Generated Designs
Within seconds, Claude will generate a set of ready-to-edit Canva visuals. These will typically include layout suggestions, color accents, and font pairings that match your content type.
Open and Edit in Canva
Press “Open in Canva.” This transfers your generated designs to Canva’s editor, where you can:
Adjust colors, logos, or fonts to match your brand
Add or remove icons and images
Refine text alignment or transitions for final polish
Note: If your document is long, ask Claude to summarize or extract highlights first — it makes the design cleaner and easier to follow.
