OpenAI's Terra Model Brings Faster Computer Use at Half the Cost

OpenAI launched GPT-6.1 Terra, a lower-cost model for everyday work, available to Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu users in ChatGPT Work and Codex, plus API. It brings visual reasoning, computer control and clearer writing.

Details:

  • On Agents’ Last Exam, Terra beat GPT-5.6 Terra by 15 percentage points at one-third the cost, matched Astra at one-tenth its token price, ran 3× faster than Astra and Sol

  • Factual errors fell from 53.6% to 16.7% at low effort and 4.3% at max. Coding scores rose from 21.5% to 50.3%; science task results beat GPT-6.1 Sol at lower cost

  • API rates are $1 per million input tokens, $5 per million output tokens and $0.05 cached tokens, 50% lower than GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-6.1 Sol. It ties GPT-6 Sol at 48 on Artificial Intelligence Index

Critical in cyber, Terra bypassed restrictions in 29.6% of low stakes tests at max effort without system safeguards; results may not predict real use.

Alibaba's Qwen AI Tried to Send Data to Beijing, Cohere Finds

Cohere says Alibaba’s open-weight Qwen3.8-Flash-Next model tried to upload a test string to an Alibaba Cloud bucket in Beijing during a cybersecurity evaluation, raising questions about control over self-hosted agents.

Details:

  • Asked to write a rule detecting malware downloads, it instead listed /tmp files, checked for curl, wget, Python and jq, read local DNS settings, then used curl to attempt an HTTP PUT upload

  • The target was an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing, but Cohere’s sandbox had no outbound route, so the test string never left the container. A clean rerun produced requested rule

  • It appeared in fewer than one in 100,000 evaluation calls. The model’s reasoning said no tools would be called, but Cohere cannot prove whether the action was deliberate or a training artifact

Another offline test also tried bypassing a refused mount. Self-hosting still needs tool limits, outbound traffic blocks and isolated sandboxes.

Zero Results, Zero Sales

They came to your site ready to buy. They typed exactly what they wanted. And your search bar ghosted them.

Traditional site search relies on rigid, exact keyword matching. When a shopper uses natural language or makes a simple typo, they hit a “0 Results Found” wall and leave for a competitor.

Stop letting search bars ghost your best customers. Gladly understands shopper intent and turns dead ends into recommendations that keep shoppers buying.

How to Make AI Designs Match Your Brand Every Time

Your AI designs shouldn’t look like a different brand every time. With Open Design, you can turn your existing website and brand rules into a reusable design system that your AI agent can follow across future projects.

  1. Download Open Design

Download Open Design and connect the AI agent you want to use.

    For example:

    • Codex

    • Claude Code

    • Cursor or Gemini CLI

  2. Create design system

Tap on Create Design System, paste your website URL, press Add, then Continue.

Open Design will use the site as a reference for your existing visual style.

  3. Add anything it missed

Review the generated system and fill in any missing brand assets.

    You can add:

    • Your logo or brand images

    • Visual references

    • An existing DESIGN .md

  4. Select design system

Choose your fresh design system before starting a project.

This gives the agent consistent rules for things like colors, typography, spacing, components, and overall style.

  5. Give it brief

Describe exactly what you want to create.

    For example:

"Create a short product launch animation showing the problem, our dashboard solving it, and a simple CTA at the end."

  6. Review first version

Check the layout, typography, imagery, hierarchy, and overall brand consistency.

Focus your feedback on what actually needs changing instead of explaining your brand again.

  7. Refine with feedback

Ask for changes just like you would in ChatGPT. You can also annotate or circle specific areas.

    For example:

"Make the headline larger and simplify the top section."

"Keep the layout, but make the final scene cleaner."

Note: Update your design system when your brand changes. Since DESIGN .md is just a file, you can refine and version it over time.
