OpenAI Brings GPT 5.5 Instant To ChatGPT With Big Benchmark Gains

OpenAI is rolling out GPT-5.5 Instant as ChatGPT’s default model, replacing GPT-5.3 with stronger reasoning, better factuality, lower hallucination, and smoother everyday answers across work and study.

Details:

  • It improves accuracy in high-stakes areas like medicine, law, and finance, while staying quick to respond. It also performs better on coding, knowledge work, STEM questions, image analysis, and search decisions

  • The benchmark jump is clear. GPT-5.5 Instant scored 81.2 on AIME 2025, up from 65.4, and reached 76 on MMMU-Pro compared with 69.2, showing stronger reasoning

  • The bigger shift is personalization. ChatGPT can use saved memories, past chats, files, and connected Gmail context, then show memory sources so users can review, correct, or disconnect them

The model rolls out to ChatGPT users, with personalization first on Plus and Pro web. Devs can use it through chat-latest, while 5.3 stays available for paid users for 3 months.

Subquadratic

Subquadratic Launches SubQ With Massive 12M Token Context Window

Subquadratic just launched SubQ, an AI model claiming a 12 million token context window with far lower compute. The Miami startup says it can read huge files, codebases, books, and research in one pass.

Details:

  • The company raised $29M in seed funding and says SubQ uses a fully subquadratic sparse attention architecture, where compute grows more efficiently as context gets bigger

  • Subquadratic claims SubQ is 52x quicker than FlashAttention at 1M tokens, costs under 5% of Opus, and cuts attention compute by almost 1,000x at 12M tokens

  • It is launching private beta tools including an API, SubQ Code, and SubQ Search. But researchers still want independent proof before calling this a true breakthrough

If SubQ’s claims hold up, long context AI could become much cheaper. If not, it joins the long list of big AI claims waiting for real-world validation.

How to Convert YouTube Videos Into Visual Infographics with AI

Instead of rewatching videos or taking manual notes, you can use Gemini to break down any YouTube video and transform the most important takeaways into a visually appealing infographic.

  1. Launch Gemini

Go to the Google Gemini or mobile app and start a fresh chat.

  2. Enable Thinking Mode

Select Thinking mode so Gemini can better understand the video and extract the most important concepts.

  3. Paste YouTube URL

Copy and paste the YouTube video link you want to use.

  4. Prompt Gemini

Ask Gemini to break down the video into its key ideas and concepts.

    Example prompts:

    • Extract the main ideas and most important concepts from this video: [YouTube URL]

    • Analyze this video and organize the core takeaways into clear sections: [YouTube URL]

  5. Review Analysis

Go through the response and make sure the most valuable information is included before turning it into an image.

  6. Choose “Create Image 🍌

Select the Create Image 🍌 option to begin generating the infographic.

  7. Enter Infographic Prompt

Use a prompt that clearly asks Gemini to transform the analysis into a visual summary.

    Example prompts:

    • Create a clean infographic that visually summarizes the main concepts from the video.

    • Turn the analyzed key points into a professional infographic with sections and visual hierarchy.

    • Generate an engaging infographic based on the video’s core ideas and lessons.
