Albania Appoints AI Bot as Government Minister to Fight Corruption

Albania has appointed the world’s first AI bot as a government minister. Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that “Diella,” meaning “sun” in Albanian, will oversee public procurement and handle government contracts.

Details:

• Albania has long battled corruption in public tenders, damaging its EU hopes. Experts say the country is a laundering hub for drug and arms trafficking. Rama, in his fourth term, hopes Diella will make tenders “100% clear of corruption,” since AI can’t be bribed

• Diella isn’t new. She launched this year as an AI assistant on e-Albania, in traditional dress, helping citizens request documents by voice and issuing e-stamped forms. The role showed AI’s ability to speed services and cut red tape

• Her appointment raises concerns over oversight and security. The government hasn’t explained supervision or safeguards. Public skepticism is strong: one user said “even Diella will be corrupted,” another warned “stealing will continue and Diella will be blamed”

This AI experiment could be a leap toward transparency or just a band-aid on deeper issues. Whether Diella can brighten Albania’s corruption-plagued system remains uncertain.

How to Create an AI Agent That Handles Email Chaos for You

Overwhelmed by emails? You’re not alone. Between spam, marketing blasts, and real requests, it’s easy to miss what matters. This tutorial shows you how to build an Email Assistant that sorts messages, tags teammates in Slack, and drafts professional replies.

1. Create Agent in Zapier

   Open Zapier Agents from your dashboard.

   Tap on “New Agent”.

   Name your agent “Email Assistant.”

   Under scheduling, set it to run daily at 9 AM. Running in batches ensures better efficiency and reduces unnecessary Zapier task usage.

2. Configure Agent’s Core

   Hit “Copilot.”

   Paste in the following prompt:

   “Each day at 9 AM PST, retrieve all emails received in the last 24 hours. Sort them into the following categories: Spam, Auto-Replies, PR/Marketing, Customer Support, Feedback, or General Inquiry. Summarize the key details of each email in one sentence and prepare them for tagging and response drafting.”

   Save your prompt so the agent consistently applies these rules.

3. Customize Team Rules

   Define which team member or department should be tagged for each email category. For example:

   • Customer Support → Tag the support team lead in Slack.

   • PR/Marketing → Tag the marketing manager.

   • Feedback → Forward to product team.

   Add clear rules so messages flow automatically to the right people without manual intervention.

4. Add and Connect Essential Tools

   Tap on “Add Tools.”

   Connect the following:

   • Gmail (for email retrieval and responses).

   • Slack (for tagging and notifying teammates).

   • FAQ URLs or documentation (so the AI can draft accurate and consistent replies).

   Grant the agent full permissions so it can operate autonomously.

5. Fine-Tune Response Drafting (Optional but Recommended)

   In Copilot, add a follow-up instruction for drafting replies. Example:

   “For Customer Support and General Inquiries, draft a professional, concise response using our FAQ knowledge base. Save the draft in Gmail but do not auto-send.”

   This gives your team control while still saving them significant time.

6. Run Test with Inbox

   Trigger the agent manually with a sample set of emails.

   Review:

   • Did it classify each email correctly?

   • Did it tag the right team members in Slack?

   • Were the drafted responses accurate and professional?

7. Adjust and Optimize

   If any emails were misclassified, update your classification rules or tagging instructions.

   Refine the FAQ connections if responses felt incomplete.

   Repeat testing until results are reliable.

8. Enable Daily Schedule

   Once satisfied with testing, enable the daily automation at 9 AM.

   From this point on, your inbox will be automatically processed, your team will be notified and drafts will be prepared without you lifting a finger.

Note: Feed the agent a few examples of your company’s email responses so drafts sound consistent with your brand voice.
