OpenAI Partners with Broadcom to Build Custom AI Chips

OpenAI is cutting its reliance on Nvidia by teaming up with Broadcom to build custom AI chips. The partnership marks a major shift in how OpenAI plans to power its ambitions—from ChatGPT to its goal of creating superintelligent AI.

Details:

• The partnership will let OpenAI build and deploy 10 gigawatts of custom AI accelerators—about the output of 10 nuclear reactors. By designing its own chips, OpenAI can bake lessons from its frontier models directly into hardware. Broadcom plans to begin deployment in late 2026, with completion expected by 2029

• It is part of OpenAI’s larger infrastructure plan, which also includes a six-gigawatt partnership with AMD and a 10-gigawatt contract with Nvidia. These became possible after OpenAI loosened its compute deal with Microsoft, allowing it to diversify suppliers

• OpenAI isn’t alone in building custom silicon. Meta, Google, and Microsoft are developing their own chips to ease supply issues and reduce reliance on Nvidia. While these efforts haven’t yet challenged Nvidia’s dominance, they’ve opened big opportunities for chipmakers like Broadcom

Salesforce Pours $15 Billion Into San Francisco AI Push

Salesforce is doubling down on its hometown and the future of AI. The cloud giant announced a $15 billion investment in San Francisco over the next five years, showing its commitment to staying competitive in the rapidly moving AI race.

Details:

• Salesforce’s $15 billion investment will fund an AI incubator hub at its San Francisco campus to help companies build AI agents that handle user tasks. Founded in 1999 and still based in the city, Salesforce employs over 76,000 people worldwide and is weaving AI into products like Slack while competing with Microsoft, Oracle

• The news comes just ahead of Dreamforce (October 14–16), expected to bring 50,000 attendees and $130 million to the city. Salesforce also launched its global “Agentforce 360” AI platform

• This follows a $1 billion, five-year investment in Mexico, where Salesforce has operated since 2006. Despite its expansion, shares are down 28% this year, though they rose 1% after the announcement. The company also forecast Q3 revenue below expectations

Build Complete n8n Automations with Claude Sonnet 4.5 via MCP

n8n is exploding in popularity for a reason—it lets you link apps, APIs, and workflows any way you want. But what if you could build complete automations without any manual work? This guide shows how to create entire n8n workflows from a simple description.

1. Install Required Tools

   Download and install Claude Desktop from Anthropic’s official website. Install Node.js (version 18 or higher recommended).

   Verify the installations by running in your terminal:

   node -v

   npm -v

2. Set Up MCP Server for n8n

   In your terminal, run:

   npx n8n-mcp

   Wait for the MCP server to initialize—you’ll see a confirmation once it’s running.

3. Configure Claude to Connect with n8n

   • Launch Claude Desktop.

   • Go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config.

   • Paste the MCP configuration code.

   Add your n8n instance URL and API key:

   • To create an API key, go to Settings → n8n API → Create API Key, then paste it into Claude’s config.

4. Restart Claude Desktop

   Save the configuration file. Restart Claude Desktop to apply changes.

5. Enable MCP Tools in Claude

   Tap the n8n MCP icon in the bottom-right corner of Claude. Select “Enable tools” to allow workflow usage.

6. Describe Automation

   In a fresh Claude chat, type something like:

   “Create an n8n workflow that collects latest Notion database entries, summarizes each one using AI, and sends the summary to Slack every morning.”

7. Let Claude Build

   Claude Sonnet 4.5 will interpret your request, automatically create the workflow, and connect necessary nodes. Once complete, Claude provides a direct link.

8. Review and Test

   Open the link in n8n, glance over the setup, and run a quick test to confirm it works.

Note: You can ask Claude to modify existing workflows too — just share the workflow URL and describe what changes you want.
