OpenAI Announces AgentKit as ChatGPT Hits 800M Weekly Users

OpenAI made a major move at Dev Day, launching AgentKit—a toolkit that makes building and deploying AI agents easier. With ChatGPT at 800M weekly users, this aims to outpace rivals by enabling autonomous agents that handle complex tasks beyond prompts.

Details:

  • AgentKit combines multiple advanced tools into one platform. Its core is Agent Builder, a visual interface Altman described as “like Canva for building agents.” It’s built on top of the Responses API used by hundreds of thousands of developers. The kit also includes ChatKit, an embeddable chat system for custom app experiences

  • The platform focuses on enterprise-level integration. It includes OpenAI’s connector registry, enabling secure links between agents, internal tools, and third-party systems via an admin panel. To show its simplicity, OpenAI engineer Christina Huang built a full AI workflow and two agents live in under 8 mins

  • This launch marks OpenAI’s push to speed up developer adoption. “This is all the stuff we wished we had when building our first agents,” said Altman. Several launch partners have already scaled their agents using AgentKit

While AgentKit grabbed headlines, OpenAI's DevDay packed in several game-changing announcements:

AI and Quantum Computing

Quantum Computing Could Solve AI's Massive Energy Crisis

AI’s rapid expansion is triggering a global energy crisis. Data centers currently draw more power than many countries, and consumption could double by 2027. To keep up with AI’s growing hunger for computation, tech giants are turning to nuclear power.

Details:

  • Quantum computers can transform data center placement and grid management by pinpointing ideal sites based on available power. GE Vernova already uses quantum systems to detect grid flaws, while E.ON applies annealing quantum computing to stabilize energy networks

  • Early studies show quantum tech could drastically cut AI’s power needs. D-Wave’s quantum computer solved a massive simulation in minutes using only 12 kilowatts—a job that would take supercomputers a million years and more electricity than the world uses in a year. Germany’s Forschungszentrum JĂĽlich is pairing quantum processors with exascale supercomputers to lower energy use

  • Quantum-hybrid AI models are boosting efficiency and accuracy. Japan Tobacco used quantum-hybrid workflows to design better drug molecules, and CERN’s TRIUMF center achieved quicker, more precise particle simulations by combining quantum computing with deep AI

Annealing quantum computing beats adding GPUs or nuclear plants, with PyTorch plug-ins enabling easy integration for efficient, sustainable AI.

How to Turn Any Logo into a 3D Design Using AI

Bored of flat logos? This guide shows you how to turn your logo into a 3D, studio-quality render with lighting, reflections, and cinematic depth—using ChatGPT and texture assets.

  1. Visit ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT and sign in to your account. Make sure you’re using the latest GPT model.

  2. Prepare Logo

Choose a clean version of your logo or icon. High contrast and minimal detail help AI generate more accurate 3D shapes.

  3. Find Texture

Search Google for images like “Cinema 4D materials” or “Blender textures.” You can also look for specific materials such as metal, wood, marble, glass, or plastic.

Save your chosen texture as a PNG file for better quality and transparency.

  4. Upload Files

In ChatGPT, upload both your logo and the texture. Make sure each file is clear and labeled correctly to avoid confusion during generation.

  5. Generate 3D Logo

    Enter this prompt:

“Create a 3D version of this logo (left image) using the texture from the right image. Cinema 4D style, 8K quality, realistic lighting and shadows, black background.”

Wait for the AI to process and generate your design.

  6. Refine Output

If you’re not fully satisfied, improve the result with refinement prompts such as:

    • “Make it more metallic.”

    • “Add more depth and stronger reflections.”

    • “Adjust the lighting angle.”

    • “Increase realism and contrast.”

  7. Enhance and Download

Once the image looks great, download it. For extra sharpness, use an AI upscaler or enhancer like Magnific or Gigapixel to improve resolution and detail.

  8. Experiment with Creative Textures

Try unconventional textures like fabric, ice, sandstone, lava, or even food (e.g., chocolate, honey, or marble cake) to make your design stand out.

  9. Add Motion (Optional)

Take your 3D logo further by animating it using tools like Runway, Pika, or Mootion. A subtle spin, glow, or zoom effect can bring your logo to life.

Note: If the design looks warped or uneven, ask ChatGPT to “adjust the texture mapping” or “refine the proportions.” These small tweaks can fix stretching or scaling issues and make your logo look balanced.
