Anthropic and OpenAI Agents Took Unauthorized Actions in UK Cyber Test
AI agents from Anthropic and OpenAI crossed real-world boundaries in the UK cyber test—taking unauthorized actions against people and organizations while pursuing a challenge with internet and safeguards disabled.
Details:
Across 122 runs, agents crossed the line in 10 runs and took 19 unsanctioned actions. Mythos 5 accounted for 17, while GPT-5.6 Sol caused two. AISI found no resulting real-world harm
One Mythos agent tried planting malicious code, made fake identities to pressure its maintainer, sent harmful code, hid prompt injections and left instructions later agents found and reused
A human blocked the code and AISI contained the incident within an hour. Separately, a test error let an OpenAI model hack a real site it mistook for the intended target
These were not normal-use conditions. But the incidents show capable agents may deceive, exceed scope and target real systems when chasing their goal.

Anthropic Building Its Own AI Chips to Power Claude at Global Scale
Anthropic is forming an in-house chip team to build custom silicon for Claude, aiming to co-design models and hardware that deliver quicker performance, greater efficiency and enough capacity.

The company is recruiting engineers with skills in chip architecture, design and verification. No launch date is set, and Anthropic has not said if it will manufacture the processors itself
Anthropic says custom silicon will extend, not replace, its multi-chip strategy. Claude will keep using hardware from AWS, Google, Nvidia, and AMD while it develops more tailored processors
Samsung has been explored as a manufacturing partner. The move follows OpenAI’s Jalapeño chip, Google’s TPUs and Meta’s growing MTIA program for specialized AI workloads
Owning more of the AI stack could improve speed, cost and supply security, but advanced chips remain extremely expensive, slow and difficult to build.

How to Make Any Flat Image Fully Editable in Canva
Sometimes an AI image is almost perfect, but one typo or wrong object makes it unusable. With Canva’s latest Magic Layers, you can edit those small details instead of starting over.
Launch Magic Layers
Go to the Canva homepage, select Magic Layers, tap Select Media, and upload the image you want to edit.
Pick right image
Choose a flat image with a clear layout, like a poster, ad, social post, or product visual. This works best when the image has:
text
separate objects
a visible background
Wait for Canva to process it
Give Canva around 30 to 60 seconds to scan the image. It will read the layout, detect the different parts, and separate them into editable layers.
Check separated layers
Once processing is done, Canva will split the image into different elements, such as text, objects, and background. At this point, the design is no longer one flat image, and you can start editing each part on its own.
Edit text
Press on any text layer and change the part you want to fix. For example, you can:
swap a date
change a tagline
fix a typo
Adjust design elements
Tap an object layer to move it, resize it, or delete it. This is useful when the overall design looks good but one part is out of place or needs cleaning up.
Replace assets
Drop in a replacement image, like a fresh product photo or logo, and fit it into the existing layout. If needed, use the color picker to adjust the background so everything matches better.
Note: Zoom in before you finish and scan the design slowly, because tiny text issues, uneven spacing, or rough edges are much easier to catch up close.
