Runway Solaris Could Change How Websites and Apps Are Built

Runway’s Solaris points to a different kind of software: instead of loading a coded interface, the screen itself is generated live, frame by frame, reshaping in real time as you tap, drag, type, or interact with objects.

Details:

  • Solaris builds on Gen-4.5. An LLM reads each action, decides what should happen next, and guides the world model to render the response live, without predefined screens or normal UI code

  • Runway demos show a shirt dragged onto a photo for virtual try-on, ingredients dropped into a bowl to build a salad, and a combustion lesson that visually reacts while the user experiments

  • In Runway’s 250-person study, Solaris beat Claude Opus 5-coded UIs 71% on natural behavior and 61% on instruction following. Text clarity, wrong screens and long-session drift remain issues

Solaris is entering its initial rollout. If AI keeps getting faster, cheaper and better, software may shift from fixed pages to interfaces generated per user.

Apple Claims Former Engineer Took Confidential Apple Files Into OpenAI

Apple’s fight with OpenAI just escalated. A newly examined work MacBook from former Apple engineer Chang Liu has led Apple to claim it found evidence that its confidential hardware info was used inside OpenAI.

Details:

  • Apple alleges Liu used a confidential power converter circuit schematic at OpenAI and used a tool sharing the name of an internal Apple engineering application

  • Apple also alleges Liu asked OpenAI colleague Yu-Ting Peng to help destroy evidence. The evidence is redacted, while earlier filings showed Liu knew he could still retrieve Apple files

  • OpenAI says Liu retrieved Apple files to help former coworkers. Apple says he exploited a rare authentication bug, and notes 400+ former Apple employees currently work at OpenAI

Apple wants expedited discovery and an injunction blocking OpenAI hardware tied to Apple technology while the case proceeds. The dispute is growing.

How to Make AI Designs Match Your Brand Every Time

Your AI designs shouldn’t look like a different brand every time. With Open Design, you can turn your existing website and brand rules into a reusable design system that your AI agent can follow across future projects.

  1. Download Open Design

Download Open Design and connect the AI agent you want to use.

    For example:

    • Codex

    • Claude Code

    • Cursor or Gemini CLI

  2. Create design system

Tap on Create Design System, paste your website URL, press Add, then Continue.

Open Design will use the site as a reference for your existing visual style.

  3. Add anything it missed

Review the generated system and fill in any missing brand assets.

    You can add:

    • Your logo or brand images

    • Visual references

    • An existing DESIGN .md

  4. Select design system

Choose your fresh design system before starting a project.

This gives the agent consistent rules for things like colors, typography, spacing, components, and overall style.

  5. Give it brief

Describe exactly what you want to create.

    For example:

"Create a short product launch animation showing the problem, our dashboard solving it, and a simple CTA at the end."

  6. Review first version

Check the layout, typography, imagery, hierarchy, and overall brand consistency.

Focus your feedback on what actually needs changing instead of explaining your brand again.

  7. Refine with feedback

Ask for changes just like you would in ChatGPT. You can also annotate or circle specific areas.

    For example:

"Make the headline larger and simplify the top section."

"Keep the layout, but make the final scene cleaner."

Note: Update your design system when your brand changes. Since DESIGN .md is just a file, you can refine and version it over time.
