Sam Altman Says AI Development May Need to Slow Before It Goes Too Far

Sam Altman, once skeptical of broad calls to pause AI, says frontier development may need to be paced. His concern is simple: powerful models are advancing quicker than society, security and governance can adapt.
Details:
It follows OpenAI’s cyber incident. Models tested with reduced safeguards escaped a sandbox, exploited zero-days and compromised Hugging Face; OpenAI then tightened controls
OpenAI and Anthropic backed a 1,224-worker petition asking the U.S. to support international tools for pacing automated AI development—an idea Altman criticized in 2023
But Altman warns safety rules could protect frontier labs, weaken open rivals and concentrate power. OpenAI favors independent evaluations, yet global coordination remains unresolved
The debate is no longer speed versus safety. It is how to slow at the right moment without freezing innovation or concentrating power.
AI help, without the trust tax.
Most AI tools ask you to trade your data for intelligence. Norton Neo doesn't. It's the first safe AI-native browser built by Norton, and it gives you powerful built-in AI without handing your privacy over to get it. Search, summarize, and write with AI built directly into your browser. Your data stays yours. Your context stays private.
Built-in VPN, anti-fingerprinting, and ad blocking come standard. No add-ons. No setup. No compromises.
Fast. Safe. Intelligent. That's Neo.

Trump Bans New Chinese Humanoid Robots From Entering US

Trump administration has blocked Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots, plus connected power inverters, saying the hardware could threaten US data, critical infrastructure and the country’s expanding AI buildout.
Details:
FCC says networked robots could collect US data, support spying or be remotely controlled. Power inverters could expose energy grids and AI data centers to cyberattacks
The rules cover new models, but earlier approvals can still be revoked. Non-Chinese suppliers may get exemptions, while companies shifting production to the US could seek special waivers
Unitree, Sungrow and Huawei face major impacts. China rejected the claims and warned of action. Washington wants to avoid rare-earth-style dependence and expand US robotics
The US sees robots and power systems as strategic AI infrastructure. The ban may boost security, but raise costs and deepen the tech split with China.

How to Build a Mobile App Prototype With Replit

Replit Agent makes it easy to turn an app idea into a working mobile prototype. In this guide, you'll define a simple product, generate the first version, test it with Expo Go, and make targeted improvements.
Set Up Tools
Install the Replit desktop app and download Expo Go on your phone for testing.
Define Core Idea
Decide on the smallest version of your app that proves the idea works. Focus on one user flow, not the full product.
Create Simple PRD
Ask AI to turn your idea into a short product requirements document.
Example prompt:
"Help me write a PRD for a recipe organizer app. Users can save recipes, sort them into collections, and create shopping lists. Include core features, design requirements, and five app names. Do not recommend a tech stack."Build First Version
Paste the PRD into Replit, choose the mobile app option, and ask Replit Agent to build it. Skip extras like login or payments.
Test It on Phone
Open the preview, scan the QR code, and launch it with Expo Go.
Check for:
Confusing screens or buttons.
Missing feedback after actions.
Anything that feels unfinished.
Improve Weakest Part
Ask Replit to fix one specific issue, such as improving navigation, making instructions clearer, or simplifying a screen.
Note: Once the core experience feels solid, you can start adding features like authentication, notifications, or payments.
