ByteDance Launches Seedream 4.0 to Challenge Google's Nano Banana

ByteDance launched Seedream 4.0, an AI image generator and editor that rivals Google DeepMind’s viral “Nano Banana” tool (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image), marking a strong push into advanced image creation and editing.
Details:
ByteDance says Seedream 4.0 beat Gemini 2.5 Flash Image on its internal MagicBench test for prompt adherence, alignment, and aesthetics. The results weren’t in a formal report. Google’s model still tops Artificial Analysis leaderboards for text-to-image and editing, while Seedream 4.0 awaits outside review
Seedream 4.0 merges Seedream 3.0’s image generation with SeedEdit 3.0’s editing. Pricing stays 30 per 1,000 generations, but raw inference is 10x quicker with its fresh architecture. Users praise its precise editing, which updates images from text prompts
China’s AI-content race is crowded, with rivals like Kuaishou and Tencent. Policy grants copyright to AI content but requires labeling. Other moves include Vidu’s reference-to-image tool, using up to 7 references at 0.62 yuan per image, versus Gemini’s 9-reference capacity
Seedream 4.0’s launch underscores rising global competition in AI image generation, with Chinese firms using low prices and rapid innovation to challenge established players and reshape industry dynamics.

Microsoft Teams Up with Anthropic as OpenAI Relationship Cools

Microsoft is ending its AI partnership with OpenAI and teaming up with Anthropic to power Office 365. The move signals a shift from reliance on ChatGPT’s maker toward broader AI diversification across Big Tech.
Details:
Microsoft will pay Anthropic to bring Claude AI into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, alongside OpenAI tech. Microsoft believes Claude Sonnet 4 beats OpenAI in certain tasks, especially making polished PowerPoint slides
Tensions with OpenAI are rising as both seek independence. OpenAI launched a jobs platform rivaling LinkedIn and is working with Broadcom to mass-produce custom AI chips by 2026, aiming to reduce reliance on Microsoft’s Azure
Meanwhile, Microsoft is building its own AI models, including MAI-Voice-1 and MAI-1-preview, while also negotiating a fresh OpenAI deal. Sources say the Anthropic partnership isn’t a bluff but a real push to secure stronger AI performance for targeted use cases
Microsoft’s shift shows how AI deals are moving from exclusivity to diversification, prioritizing flexibility over loyalty while still keeping OpenAI as a core partner.

How to Lip-Sync Your Voice to Any Face with AI

Tired of silent posts getting skipped? Let’s give your content a voice and a face. In a few guided steps, you’ll create a realistic lip-sync video from any image, tweak pacing for clarity, and export a clean MP4 for TikTok, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
Visit SkyReels
Go to the official SkyReels AI platform in your web browser, and log in or register.
Open AI video tools
Once logged in, look at the dashboard menu.
Tap on the ‘AI Videos’ section.
Choose ‘Lip Sync’ to start creating a talking character video.
Upload base video or image
If you already have a short video clip of a person, upload it here.
If not, you can upload a still image (like a portrait photo, product photo, or even a character avatar).
Example: A headshot of yourself or an AI-generated character image.
Enter speech or audio
You have two options:
a) Text to speech: Type the exact text you want the character to say. SkyReels will generate realistic audio for it.
b) Upload audio: If you already have a recorded message, podcast snippet, or voiceover, upload the file instead.
Pick voice and style
If you typed text, choose from the available AI voices (male, female, formal, casual, etc.).
Some platforms allow accents and tones (e.g., British English, American English, enthusiastic, calm).
This step is optional if you’ve already uploaded your own audio file.
Adjust video speed
Select the playback speed (normal, slow) depending on the mood of your video.
Slower speeds often look more natural for tutorials, while faster speeds can work well for short social media clips.
Generate lip-sync video
Press the ‘Generate’ button.
The AI will automatically sync the lip and mouth movements to match your audio or text-to-speech output.
This usually takes a few seconds to a minute, depending on video length.
Preview and refine
Watch the generated video in the preview window.
If the lip-sync feels slightly off, you can adjust text pacing, re-record audio, or tweak video speed.
Example: If words feel rushed, break your text into shorter sentences before regenerating.
Note: Use clear, high-quality photos or clips with good lighting so the lip-sync looks natural. Keep scripts short with pauses, and test different voices or tones for the best style.
