SoftBank Raises $11 Billion Through Bonds to Back OpenAI Investment

SoftBank has launched an $11.15B bond sale — $10B in dollar notes plus €1B ($1.15B) in euro notes to fund its OpenAI investment, according to a term sheet, in what could become a record regional corporate debt deal.

Details:

  • The dollar bonds mature in 3.5, 5.5 and 7.5 years, while the euro notes mature in 4 and 6 years. Proceeds will fund a $10B third OpenAI tranche due October 1 plus general corporate purposes

  • The bonds replace a $10B bridge loan. Pricing is expected September 24 and settlement September 29. Fitch rated them BB+, expecting higher debt but adequate liquidity and market entry

  • Citi leads dollars; JPMorgan leads euros. Citi, Goldman, JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley coordinate dollar notes; JPMorgan, Deutsche Bank and Goldman coordinate euros

At planned size, it would beat 7-Eleven’s $10.93B 2021 sale as APAC/Japan’s biggest non-financial bond deal and rank among 2026’s global top 20 deals.

Google Opens Preorders for Premium $899 Googlebook Laptops With Gemini

Google has opened pre-orders for Googlebook, the latest premium laptop category built around Gemini AI and tighter Android integration, starting at $899 as it returns to flagship ChromeOS hardware.

Details:

  • Initial models from Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo use Intel or Qualcomm chips and promise up to 14 hours of battery life, pushing Google beyond its usual budget-focused laptop market

  • Gemini can draft and organize text, answer questions about on-screen content, and resume tasks from an Android phone. Googlebook blends Android with ChromeOS desktop

  • The launch revives Google’s premium laptop push after Pixelbook in 2017 and Pixelbook Go in 2019, while Apple adds pressure with its recently introduced $699 MacBook Neo

Googlebook is Google’s latest attempt to turn Gemini and Android integration into a premium PC experience rather than another budget Chromebook.

Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads

Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:

After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.

The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.

“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”

Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

AI Workflow

How to Turn Anonymous Website Visitors Into Qualified Leads

Someone visits your pricing page, looks around, and leaves. Instead of losing that opportunity, this AI workflow can identify the company, research the right prospect, and prepare a personalized follow-up.

  1. Track website visitors

Connect your website to Clay Web Intent by installing its tracking snippet.

Clay can then capture signals such as pages visited, session time, traffic source, and visit frequency. Importantly, it identifies visitors at the company/account level, not individual people.

  2. Focus on high-intent accounts

Instead of targeting every visitor, filter for stronger signals such as:

    • Visiting /pricing or other important pages

    • Viewing multiple pages

    • Spending meaningful time on the site

    • Returning more than once

  3. Find right person

Once Clay identifies the company, enrich that account and find a relevant decision-maker.

For example, if you sell a marketing tool, the workflow could look for a Head of Marketing, Growth Lead, or CMO instead of contacting a random employee.

  4. Let AI research prospect

Send the company and contact data to Claygent.

Claygent can research the web for recent company news, hiring signals, business information, and other useful context.

    Prompt it with:

“Research this company and contact. Find relevant information that could explain why our product may be useful to them. Use information you can verify.”

  5. Generate personalized follow-up

Ask Claygent to turn that research into a short email.

“Write a natural sales email under 100 words using the prospect research. Mention one relevant problem we may help solve and end with one simple question.”

The important part is not to tell people you tracked their website activity.

  6. Automate follow-up

Send qualified prospects into Clay Sequencer, where you can build a campaign with up to four emails and personalize messages using lead data and AI-generated snippets. The sequence automatically stops when a lead replies.

    Your finished workflow becomes:

Website Visit → Company Identified → Contact Found → AI Research → Personalized Email → Follow-Up Sequence

Note: Combine intent + fit. A company visiting your site matters much more if it also matches your ideal customer profile.
