SpaceX Buys Cursor For $60B As Its AI Coding Strategy Expands Post IPO

SpaceX just made one of the biggest AI moves of 2026. Days after its record IPO, the company agreed to buy Cursor maker Anysphere for $60B in stock, making AI coding a core part of its next story.
Details:
The deal is expected to close in Q3, subject to approvals. Cursor was already one of the fastest-growing AI coding tools, and was close to a $50B private valuation before this
SpaceX wants Cursor to strengthen its AI push around xAI, Grok, and enterprise coding tools. The move gives it product, developer usage, and a stronger position against OpenAI and Anthropic
The timing matters. SpaceX shares surged after IPO, pushing its valuation past Amazon and above $2.7T. Paying in stock lets SpaceX use its market value to buy AI scale
This is no longer just a space story. SpaceX is trying to connect rockets, AI coding, compute, and software into one bigger business.
You've seen the AI demos. Viktor does it without you watching.
The AI tool you tried last quarter waited for a prompt, hallucinated a number, then asked if you'd like a summary.
Viktor opened a PR at 2am, rebased it against main, ran your test suite, and posted a note in #eng: "Two flaky tests in payments service, both pre-existing. Recommended merging after fixing them." Then drafted the customer reply for the support ticket the bug created.

OpenAI 2025 Losses Raise Bigger Questions About AI Profitability

OpenAI’s 2025 numbers are much bigger than most people expected. Reported audited documents say revenue grew fast, but losses grew even faster, showing how expensive AI has become.
Details:
In 2024, OpenAI made $3.7B in revenue, spent $12.4B, and had a net loss of about $5.09B. Most of the spending came from research, development, and running the business
In 2025, revenue jumped to $13.07B, but total costs reached $34B. The loss attributable to OpenAI rose to $38.53 billion, partly due to restructuring-related accounting changes
The documents also say SoftBank paid OpenAI $867M and Microsoft paid $303M. OpenAI paid Microsoft $17.2B in expenses and ended the year with over $50B in assets
The big question is no longer whether AI demand is real. It is whether OpenAI can turn that demand into a sustainable business before costs keep rising.

How to Use OpenRouter Fusion to Compare AI Models

Different AI models are good at different tasks. This guide shows you how to run one prompt across several models and build your own simple model cheat sheet.
Create OpenRouter account
Create an OpenRouter account and go to OpenRouter Fusion. This is where you can test one prompt across multiple AI models in one place.
Pick payment setup
Choose how you want to pay for usage. You can use:
OpenRouter credits
API keys you already pay for
Use credits if you want the simplest setup.
Choose models
Select the models you want to compare. For example:
Opus 4.8
GPT 5.5
Grok
The goal is to find best model for your exact task.
Run one prompt
Use one benchmark prompt per test. Keep the prompt identical for every model. Do not change the wording, tone, or details. This makes the comparison fair.
Use real work prompt
Test with a practical prompt.
Example:
“You are helping a small coaching business decide whether to replace weekly team calls with async written updates. Write a short memo with 3 benefits, 3 risks, and a 2-week rollout plan. Keep it practical.”Compare responses
Read the outputs side by side and see:
Which one follows the prompt best
Which one gives the clearest answer
Which one gives the most useful plan
Build cheat sheet
Write down which model wins for each task.
Example:
Strategy memo: Model ASocial post: Model BTechnical explanation: Model C
After a few tests, you will know which model to use. About 10 comparisons cost around 40 cents.
Note: Use the same prompt every time, but also keep the same context. If one model gets extra background and another does not, the test is no longer fair.
