US Bans DeepSeek From Civilian Federal Agencies Over Security Concerns

The US is kicking DeepSeek out of federal civilian agencies and not just its chatbot. Washington has ordered the removal of its tools from agency systems and blocked purchases, including some tools built on DeepSeek.

Details:

  • DHS's order covers DeepSeek and affiliates, plus third-party products and services developed using its models. Published October 20, it relies on a 2018 federal supply-chain security law

  • Officials warn of sensitive data reaching China, intelligence gathering on agencies and citizens, and possible malware or software flaws. These are security risks, not breaches

  • Commerce, the Navy and states including New York had already imposed bans. China condemned the move as political and pledged to defend its companies. Agencies can request exceptions

This targets US federal civilian systems, not the public. But restrictions on third-party AI tools may be tough to enforce and reshape AI procurement.

OpenAI Eyes a $1.4 Trillion Valuation Ahead of Anthropic's Planned IPO

OpenAI is rushing to raise about $30 billion before Anthropic's expected mid-November IPO. The deal could value the ChatGPT maker above $1.4 trillion, as both AI giants compete for the same investors.

Details:

  • SoftBank, Abu Dhabi's MGX and other backers are in talks. OpenAI has courted sovereign wealth and long-term funds, hoping to secure commitments before Anthropic's stock debut

  • OpenAI says GPT-6 Astra lifted annualized revenue to $50 billion, with $70 billion targeted by year-end. Its last confirmed valuation was $852 billion after raising $122 billion in March

  • Anthropic reported $16.8 billion in Q3 revenue, but slowing growth has led investors to consider a $1.5 trillion IPO valuation, down from $2 trillion. Accounting comparisons also loom

The deal isn't finalized. OpenAI needs cash for costly AI infrastructure and a possible 2027 IPO, while market swings make investors more cautious.

AI Workflow

How to Find Out Why Your Website Traffic Is Dropping with AI

Website traffic can drop without an obvious reason. This workflow uses AI to monitor traffic changes, identify potential problems, and generate weekly reports with actionable recommendations.

  1. Connect Your Analytics Accounts

Create a workflow in n8n. Enable the Google Analytics Data API and Search Console API in Google Cloud, then connect both using Google OAuth2 credentials with read permissions.

  2. Schedule Automatic Checks

Add a Schedule Trigger node to run every Monday. Compare two consecutive seven-day periods, ending the latest period three days earlier to allow for Search Console reporting delays.

  3. Collect Website Performance Data

Use HTTP Request nodes to retrieve organic sessions and engagement rates from Google Analytics, plus clicks, impressions, CTR, average positions, and page data from Search Console.

  4. Detect Unusual Traffic Changes

Add a Code node to calculate percentage changes between periods. Flag declines of 20% or more, excluding pages with insufficient traffic data.

  5. Analyze Problems with Claude

Add the Anthropic node and select Message a Model.

    Use this prompt:

"Analyze these website metrics. Identify traffic declines, affected pages, and ranking changes. Explain possible causes, distinguish facts from hypotheses, and recommend five prioritized actions based on the data."

  6. Generate Your Traffic Report

Have Claude produce a report covering traffic changes, affected pages, possible causes, and recommended fixes. Use a Gmail node to email it automatically, then publish the workflow to activate its schedule.

Note: Set a minimum traffic threshold so small fluctuations don't trigger unnecessary warnings.

Create Your Own Photo Like This Using the Prompt Below:

A cinematic fashion editorial portrait of a male model for a GQ Style magazine cover, leaning against the hood of a vintage 1960s silver convertible on a hazy, overcast beach. The model has a well-groomed dark beard and messy, curly dark hair, staring directly into the camera with an intense, neutral expression. He wears a heavy, oversized black leather bomber jacket with large utility pockets, left open over a white ribbed tank top, paired with high-waisted black trousers featuring double-buckle belt detailing. Two thin gold necklaces with small pendants hang at mid-chest. The scene features a desaturated sandy shoreline and pale, misty sky with a soft horizon line, captured with a very shallow depth of field and an eye-level camera angle, framing the subject from the waist up. The polished metallic silver car reflects the soft, flat daylight. Use diffused natural lighting, a moody cinematic color grade, muted earth tones, deep blacks, and metallic silvers, with high-end film grain throughout. Overlay a large, bold white “GQ Style” logo across the top in a classic serif font, with smaller white sans-serif text reading “HEISENBERG” on the mid-left.
