Malta Launches National AI Program With F-R-E-E ChatGPT Plus For Citizens

Malta is treating AI like a public skill, not a private perk. Through a government deal with OpenAI, citizens and registered residents can receive ChatGPT Plus for one year after finishing a F-R-E-E AI course.

Details:

• Citizens and registered residents can claim one year of ChatGPT Plus after completing AI for All, a F-R-E-E course made with the University of Malta and tied to the country’s digital ID system

• The course teaches AI basics, limits, safe use, and practical ways people can use ChatGPT for study, work, daily tasks, business support, and problem solving, before receiving Plus benefits

• The Malta Digital Innovation Authority will manage the first phase from May, making this OpenAI’s first national government rollout where ChatGPT Plus is tied to public AI learning, for all
